Rabobank Champion Hurdle 2010 - 23rd April
This is without doubt one of the races of the week and brings together some of the very best two mile hurdlers around. Punchestown Festival Day Four promises great excitement. The 2009 race produced a great winner in Solwhit and the top performers here will normally head to the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham full of good chances as Solwhit did this season after winning here last year.
We know that Solwhit will be back to defend his crown but he will face a top class field of runners this afternoon. Dunguib will be taking his chance in this company for the first time and much is expected of this horse who is being aimed towards big things next season. Also running in the race are Punjabi and Hurricane Fly who both are more than capable of winning a race of this class on their day meaning we could be in for a real treat for the big race today. We are taking HURRICANE FLY to pick up the win here, Willie Mullins is on top form and its clear that he would not be running him if he was not in top shape. He is a horse that is thought a lot of and this could be his first step towards a big campaign next season, should have too much for a good field.
