Guinness Gold Cup 2010 - 21st April
Punchestown Festival Day Two has eight races with the feature being the famous Grade One Guinness Gold Cup which is always noted as one of the highlights of the entire Festival. This year we are in for a real treat with a big battle between the UK and Ireland in the feature race of the week, going for Ireland will be last years winner Notre Pere and Joncol who has been aimed at this race all season for Paul Nolan.
Denman is the big hope from the UK having arrived by and he will go off as the warm favourite for the race after coming second in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham last month. The 2008 Gold Cup winner has the best form but will be challenged by the Irish runners, it should be a fascinating race with all the ingredients there for a cracker later on this afternoon.

Guinness Gold Cup Runners 2010
The Guinness Gold Cup is a Grade One Chase raced over 3 miles and 1 furlong for five year olds and above. It was won last year by the 2008 Welsh Grand National winner Notre Pere who stayed all day and he may well be back in 2010 to defend his crown. We are set to see Denman go in the race this afternoon and he will be the main focus of attention for fans and punters, also likely to take their place is Joncol who should go close for Paul Nolan if he can put his best foot forward.
