2009 Ladbroke.com World Hurdle

Promised to be one of the best races of the meeting with several high class hurdlers lining up in the field. However, antepost favourite Punchestowns, trained by Nicky Henderson in England had to be withdrawn due to him being out of sorts with himself. Nonetheless a great race is still in prospect.

Please see below the runners and the form guides for the leading contenders.

World Series Hurdle Form

Below are profiles and form nackgrounds to some of the leading contenders of this race.

Whatuthink

Has tuned up for this race with a good win on the flat in heavy ground, but before that he had ran a blinder in the Stayers Hurdle at Cheltenham behind Big Bucks. He will be one of the few suited by the ground and there is no doubting his staying ability.

Fiveforthree

Only her third run since running at this Festival in 2008. She returned to the track in March and won a decent enough race at Wexford, before finishing second to Solwhit in the Grade One Aintree Hurdle at the beginning of the month. That run should have tuned up for this and she will be in with a great chance.

Powerstation

Ran a great race in the World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, when third behind, Big Bucks and Punchestowns. Although beaten by 25 lengths, the form would suggest that she is not without a chance here, particularly now that Punchestowns has withdrawn.
